After enjoying a Cooperstown – basically a Perfect Martini with mint, pretty good) before dinner at Alba, we decided to have a little “digestivo” at home. Amaro Montenegro is a recent acquisition that I bought for mixed cocktails, but its origins are as an “after coffee” drink. We had a little straight up in an aperitif glass, it’s quite nice and it’s different…each sip starts out sweet and then has a bitter herbal finish. Appropriate for the night the Broncos ended their season. Anyway, it’s made with 35 or so different herbs, and about 45 proof. Definitely worth having an Amaro in your cabinet.
